Some of you may be wondering. What animals in Singapore are endangered or threaten? Here are two examples. First, an animal found on the land (picture below).Second, an animal found in our waters (picture below).Well, as some of you may wonder. Do we have clownfishes in our waters? Yes, we do have them.
Read a blog entry by one of Singapore's nature volunteers on one trip to one of our shores where a clownfish was spotted (link below).

New Event: Endangered Animal Parade

Event Name: Endangered Animal Parade

Venue: Around the NIE Campus
Date: 22th August 2008 (Friday)
Time: 330pm to 645pm

Introduction of Endangered Animal Parade:
The Endangered Animal Parade, inspired by the Singapore Wildlife Stampede (held on 2 Nov 2007 at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, http://wildlifeparade.wordpress.com/), aims to educate youths on the endangered animal species found in Singapore and other parts of the world. Through this event, we hope to heighten the awareness of the dangers which our environment is facing and hence promote a sense of stewardship towards nature in our youths.

Held alongside with the NIE Director’s Fun Run 2008, this event is similar to Chingay Parade held annually during the Chinese New Year season, participating groups will make a parade around the NIE campus dressed in costumes of endangered animals. Thus we urge schools, environment clubs, animal welfare clubs and YOU to join us and showcase your creativity in this parade.

Click on the other parts of our e-poster (below) to find out more about this event.

We welcome any interested public members to join us in this event.
